According to our research, there are 4 Caste levels in India, You could see information below

A society scattered with many oral caste names. Those who have been doing any profession as a family tradition since ancient times, later that profession itself emerging as a caste name. With the advent of mechanization, we can see that some of the clan occupations have been alienated, and as the occupation has become a caste, they are known by the same name even today.

E.g. The clan occupation of Chakala Nayars is to grind oil in chakku, this profession became alien when machines came. The clan occupation of the Valan section is cutting wood, which also disappeared with the advent of machinery. The clan profession of the Ezhutassan sect was teaching, and today this profession also does not exist.

So many clan jobs have gone away. Weaponry and medicine were the same in all castes from Brahmins to Shudras, so it was not considered a clan occupation.

For the knowledge of the new generation, they share those old clan occupations and the caste names and position names by which they are known.
